Martyn Jackson A.R.C.M.
Martyn Jackson studied flute, saxophone and piano at the Royal College of Music London and has for over thirty years pursued a career as a performer and music educator. He is a skilled woodwind repair technician, operating from his own woodwind repair workshop with over twenty years experience of working on both student and professional instruments. Recently returning to serious composition he has written the music associated with his project 'Ancient Stones of Kernow' which focuses on the prehistory of the far west of Cornwall. He works from his music studio in St. Ives which has recording facilities and is equipped with Logic Pro X and Sibelius software along with Kontakt and Vienna Symphonic sound libuaries, with a full size Oxygen 88 keyboard.

After leaving the R.C.M. in 1976 Martyn worked in London for 15 year as a freelance musician and flute tutor. During this time he was employed as a commercial session musician, while also playing orchestrally and in the theatre. As a flute tutor he taught at the R.C.M. junior department and the famous Hill House international junior school in Knightsbridge, along with several both private and state secondary schools. After moving to Cornwall in 1990 he became a member of the woodwind team of the county music service, while continuing to perform here, he played at the opening gala of the Hall for Cornwall as well as for a number of productions of both the Duchy Opera and Ballet.
